In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, ASHI Washington had to cancel BOTH of our live education events for 2020 and while we would all love to get back to live lecture learning and sharing, we feel it is too risky to plan a live event for Spring 2021 at this time.
Zoom Classes are Working: In light of COVID-19, ASHI Washington has been working hard to bring live-lecture classes to Washington State Home Inspectors via Zoom. We have been working with the Department of Licensing to get live-lecture Zoom presentations approved and we have established a protocol to allow continuing education classes to proceed much as we did for live-lecture.
Subscribe to receive course enrollment information as we roll out a series of new classes this winter and spring to replace our customary Spring Seminar. To see continuing education opportunities, feel free to bookmark our website: https://ashiwashington.com/ or like our Facebook Page.
We believe strongly that there is no substitute for live-lecture continuing education. And while Zoom classes cannot replace this live experience, they do provide useful interactive educational opportunities. In our last seminar, we got to ask questions to Don Bender.
Don Bender is Weyerhaeuser Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of the Composite Materials & Engineering Center at WSU. He is an expert in testing, design, and construction of timber structures.
It was fantastic to get first-hand accounts of how he tests deck structures and guardrail assemblies to see how they will perform and he asked us a great question: how do you determine the adequacy of a guardrail during your home inspection?
Discussions like this with experts from our community and from around the country help us all grow as inspectors. These are great opportunities to hone your reporting template, tweak your reporting language, and improve your all-around value to your clients.
We are here for YOU: ASHI Washington is the only organization in the state dedicated to helping protect, grow, and elevate the home inspection profession. If you are a Washington State Licensed Home Inspector, consider joining a great community of home inspectors.
